Make sure you grease them up, lubricate the channel, and grease the gears, the better lubricated the easier it is to use, good luck on your bug,.

No!!!!!, get a real distinct sound, plus some happy gases in the cab, just take off the exhaust, as long as you arent in california. lol :P

The sunroof cable is very sensitive, or at least mine is, I would recommend replacing it, otherwise it is hard to use the sunroof, but it would still be usable, it all depends on your budget

Vins, again

I am again debating on what to do on my 66, I have a good set of rear popouts that im debating whether or not to put them on, I was told via the vend you can find out if it came with popouts or not, if this is true, do you think anybody would actually run the vin to find this out/ care if they're on...

chances are that something on your driver side has been replaced, all 66 came with back releases, and I dont believe many years offered one with no latch

If you havent started I would warn, don't, I have seen many headliners done well, but many more that looked like shiz, have a professional do it, they dont charge over 400$ but it will look and last great
