Is it a big deal to remove the engine deck lid? Right now it is aligned pretty nicely. I would hate to remove it and have it fit worse than it does now. Maybe it's not a big deal. I don't know.

There is a metal lip on the very top of the light opening. Make sure that you catch the metal rim on that lip. Apply downward pressure to make sure that it stays engaged while you insert the screw and plastic spacer that goes behind the metal tab on the bottom of the light fixture. Does this make an...

Engine Lid Spring Tension

Can anyone tell me if the engine spring is in the right spot. The spring tension is pretty weak, and I'm wondering if the end of the sprint should be in the slot below...

...and if it is in the wrong slot is there a trick to getting it into the slot.

I don't know but I'm interested in hearing the experts weigh in on this forum. I will probably rebuild my 1300cc this winter and I'm inclined to keep it absolutely stock. Probably silly right?

The body cart is very clever. I bet other people who restore bugs will be inspired plus you don't have to go out and purchase some expensive body dolly. I'm enjoying watching the fruits of your labor. Well beyond my capabilities. When did you pick up your welding skills?
