I just picked up a 19L battery from Interstate. It fits perfectly and I can use the original metal cover to prevent the battery terminals from touching the rear seat springs. It was closer to $75 than $99.

Nice looking Bug! Who do you have riding in the back seat? Kind of looks like St. Francis the patron saint of safe traveling, but not sure. Since your from the UK, maybe a small statue of someone in the royal family:)

The above link doesn't seem to work. Not sure if it's a temporary issue. Very interested in hitting the site. What is the BBT site address. Thanks.

You're probably right, but it's something I can handle by myself. I had just dropped the motor with the help of my local VW guru who is gracious enough to help me, but you can only impose on people so much.

Everything went back on A-OK.

I tested the oil cooler last night and HAPPY DAYS no leak. I think I'm OK now as long as I don't screw things up getting the shroud back on while the engine is installed in the car.

Oil Seal Quandary

After having my 1300cc engine out a few weeks ago for an issue with #1 cylinder and some unwanted debris I got it back running fine...then I had it up on jack stands to adjust the clutch and noticed the dreaded oil puddle below the oil cooler. I'm pretty darn sure that I have the oil cooler with the...

Sorry it took so long to respond to your insightful post. I hadn't thought of using a 67 two speed switch. Are these more available? If so I may have more luck finding a switch with a functioning fluid washer. I forgot to ask, will this switch work with a 6v system? BTW my Bug hails from Iowa. The c...

The VW pics you share are mostly modified. Any stock vehicles? Great shots by the way. It's cool seeing shows from across the pond.
