Digger89L, believe it or not, I fueled my '67 with 34 liters and it covered me a distance of 651 Km and left me with about 10 Ltrs of fuel (I believe much more) That was the experience two way only that I used a longer route going. It was a first of a journey of its kind for me in a Beetle and I wen...

Average fuel Consumption of the air cooled
Hi. I believe one good sign of a well running engine is the miles per gallon you would be able to achieve (definitely with ones driving taken into consideration). At an average, what is the expected mpg for the various air cooled engine sizes on the different bodies? At my best, on my 1300cc engine ...

Rebuild vs "reality performance" expectations
Hi.
I wonder, is it a realistic expectation to expect 180Km/h (max speed) from the Vw beetle/bus stock with a rebuilt engine? I ask because no matter how much I tried on my bus the max I'd get was slightly above 100/180!!

Vw Dormobile Camper accessories??
Hi.
I'm on a restoration project... a 1071 Dormobile. I only got the rock & roll bed. Any leads to where I could get other camping gear that came with this particular camper? (Gas burner/fridge/sink-water pump) not necessarily new but in good working condition will do for me.
Thank you.

Hydraulic tapets - adjustment query
Hi. Been a while...wow! Hope you're all well. Question! Having run on a pancake (flat 4) engine with the valves adjusted to 1.5 turns, my drive has been a drag (about 1000miles)...worst...terribly loosing momentum on hills. I adjusted the valves to 0-lash today and my-oh-my... 'Haven't I got it all ...

valve clearance - hydraulic lifters
Hi. Someone please make me understand how the engines with hydraulic lifters are valve tuned/adjusted! I was reading from an article that explains as quoted below "...Instead of setting the valve lash to 0.006", the hydraulic adjusting screw makes contact with the valve stem and you turn t...
