There's not much you can do for the glass covers short of searching for an NOS set.

But first he has to get the drain plugs out, and that requires a 17mm allen wrench. If you don't have the tool, you can use a ratchet with 1 7mm bolt double nutted at the end. You also need to have the rear wheels flat on the ground to change the axle boots. If you jack the car off the ground, the r...

I sure hope it wasn't just a $2 set of brushes, and you didn't need to replace the generator at all.

I had a set that hardly rusted in 20 years, but they were made in the early '90s.

Electrical components like that really aren't rebuildable, and the fact that you found one NOS indicates the stuff is still out there.

I assume you adjusted all four brakes at the wheels before messing with the pushrod or e-brake adjustments.

Once the plunger starts actuating the master cylinder, the play should be very little, like maybe a half inch at the pedal.

They're so new that they're not available retail (so I guess I shouldn't have said now available), but I've gotten my hands on some samples. They're not cheap. 6 volt LED dual filament taillight bulb replacements are $30 a pair, but they'll last forever.

If you want 'em, I can sell you a pair.

6 volt LED bulbs now available

I just got my hands on some new 6 volt LED bulbs that are direct replacements for the standard single and dual filiment bulbs in the taillights, and there's also a 6 volt LED headlight conversion that has a bright white beam, but uses only 0.6 amp, and doesn't draw down the electrical system. The on...

If they have clips, the older domed hubcaps will fit. '66 hubcaps fit nubs on the rim.

Coker is the only source of 165 radials with the correct narrow whitewall. Plus they give excellent service and long life. I have almost 50,000 miles on mine with lots of life left. Frankly, they're worth the dough.

Really, there's no reason we shouldn't always experience smooth driving. My only complication lately was a couple of sticking rear wheel cylinders.

Spray the mirror with WD-40 or some other lubricant to loosen it up. The turn signals and taillights ground directly to the body. I clean the grounds by carefully loosening the bolts that hold the assemblies to the fenders (8mm wrench, lots of lubricant), and scrape the rust and paint off the fender...
