billyzack A "backfire" while decelerating is usually a sign of a "lean" type of condition. Check for an intake (or vacuum) leak between carb. base and the head. While running, listen for a hissing sound. You could use a small diameter hose about 2 feet long, with one end in your ...

Very good point Blue Baron!! I've even seen them completly swell shut! and you wouldn't even know it by lookin at them! I took a pair of side cutters and cross cut the hose to verify that it was infact swelled completly shut! And the hose wasn't but a couple of years old! Must have been a ch...

Congratulations riocat53!! and Thanks Blue Baron for the compliment! I did forget the “electro-magnetic pilot jet” if your car still has one. I’m not even sure how to go about getting voltage to it, though it is tied in series with the choke coil. Maybe a hidden voltage drop would work. AND ...

UPDATE! I have since discovered that the autometer replacement bulb is rated at 6.3v! The #86 bulb was cross referenced to be 6.3v at .2a. I apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused…but! Now we may have a possible 6v flasher knob bulb option! :D If anyone knows for sure that if in ...

riocat53 Some things to consider when converting 6v to 12v. A 100 pt resto would definitely be out of the question. But you could hide all the 12v components by making them look like 6v components. One huge benefit that 12v has over the 6v is that 12v has twice the “pressure” or voltage and half the...

JavaG66 I agree with fatalifeaten on the solid/rigid clutch disks...I also once read somewhere that the only reason a spring disk was invented was to cater to those who had difficulties with a clutch. You didn't mention if you also replaced the Bowden tube...whether you did or didn’t, you might want...
