Bumper guard parts?
I'm trying to put together a decent set of bumpers from the several sets of beat up units I have in the shop. My impatience to get the rusty ones apart led to me destroying a couple of the upper brackets on the inside of the upright bumper guards (the penetrating oil just didn't work fast enough!) T...

Replacement ignition parts list?
Does anyone on the forum have a list of the OEM part numbers (mostly Bosch?) for the original 6 volt ignition parts for the 66 Beetle? Points Condensor Coil Distributor Cap Rotor Spark plugs Spark plug wires I'm not interested in converting to 12v or to an electronic ignition system. Perhaps those w...

The 1966 bug didn't have back-up lights ...so, no back-up light switch on the nose cone. Back-up lights came starting with the 1967 model ...so, you have a 1967 or new replacement nose cone. As far as I understand, the swap should would, and the bonus will be that you can install back-up lights on y...

Here's a couple of shots of the hose locations ...as the hoses come out of the wheel well area. The outer-most hoses go to the windshield lower right and left corner heat outlets, and the inner-most hoses are routed to the dash center vent outlet. On the driverside, the black hose snakes up over the...

Previously enjoyed Bug Me Videos
Does anyone on the forum have any 'previously enjoyed' Bug Me instructional videos to sell on? I'm looking for volumes 6 and 7 that show floor pan and heater channel replacement work. I've checked most of the 'used stuff for sale' websites, with no luck ...and the places that sell them commercially ...

The diagram at the bottom of this page from Wolfsburg West shows the heater hose configuration for the front. And, if you click on the numbers it will show details of the individual components. I've taken photos of the hose routing in my 66 bug (before disassembly) to remind how to put it back toget...

Parts Want Book ...new find
Picked this up from a guy online. Its a 36 page 'parts / accessories want book' that appears to have been a dealer promo item. This particular one is from 1966 and was issued by VW Canada. Not sure if its meant for an owner, or someone doing repair for a customer .... It has black and white photos o...

Are you talking about the catch on the body side, or on the actual door itself? The body side catches are available as used items online (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1778286) .. If you're talking about the mechanism inside the door (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/det...

Got your PM ...will tag up later. Yeah, its amazing they sold any Canadian Customs at all ...I think they were only about $150 cheaper than a 113 model 1300. So, you're saying yours sold for $1750 new in 1966 from DePape VW in Regina, SK .....including the gas heater? I think I paid $1200 in July 19...

According to the literature, starting in 1965 the Canadian Deluxe 1300 came standard with an 'auxiliary heater' (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/65canadafullline/page5_6.jpg ) and then in 1966 it was standard on both the deluxe and custom beetle models (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/li...
