I would believe that the fuel pumps are leaking, allowing fuel to pass through by gravity...the fuel tank outlet is possibly above the fuel pump which is yet above the cylinders thus allowing the fuel to leak into the cylinders causing a "hydro" lock...look down the throat of the carburato...

I ran a wire (from an old harness to match the rest of the patina) from the terminal to the support bar at the wiper motor mount...hidden :o

You should be able to use the '67 switch...before I had a 2sp 12v '67 wiper motor, I too and did indeed use a '67 switch...the way I did it was converged the two years schematically and lighted out the '67 switch to figure out what terminal did what...and this is what I came up with... Im not sure...but I think 1973 was the first year for the "3 point mounting" system...I currently have a '73 for my daily driver and thats what is on it...if the seats that your looking at have the earlier rail mount then they will fit.

Welcome Fontanagrau to the forum! One of my 66s also have the round push button door handles. I was told that those with the round push buttons are the later build in the production year thus using the pre 67 handles. I've never did a "Birth certificate" to validate this but it makes sense...
