I would believe that the fuel pumps are leaking, allowing fuel to pass through by gravity...the fuel tank outlet is possibly above the fuel pump which is yet above the cylinders thus allowing the fuel to leak into the cylinders causing a "hydro" lock...look down the throat of the carburato...

Im not sure...but I think 1973 was the first year for the "3 point mounting" system...I currently have a '73 for my daily driver and thats what is on it...if the seats that your looking at have the earlier rail mount then they will fit.

Welcome Fontanagrau to the forum! One of my 66s also have the round push button door handles. I was told that those with the round push buttons are the later build in the production year thus using the pre 67 handles. I've never did a "Birth certificate" to validate this but it makes sense...
