Hi. I saw that you havent received a reply so I checked out the problem when I removed my seats over the weekend. The key seems to be to remove the spring. Removal looks reasonably straight forward. Its the reassembling that would worry me.

Hi. See the replies to the posting Electrical Woes from Larspryce. Blue Baron's idea is a good one. I tried this on my car, but the stater motor was too far shot to save. Being 6v in the 12 v system will shorten the starter life, but my understanding is that to upgrade to 12 v the fly wheel also nee...

Hi Jeff930. Laying in the fuel line itself is not technicaly difficult, but personally speaking it is not something I would do myself, instead prefering to have someone with some skill in the area to do it for me. Petrol vapour scares me, especially when it goes bang when a leak is ignited. Also, it...

Hi Larspryce. I see that you haven't had a reply yet. I had a similar problem. It was the starter motor, which I replaced with a factory reconditioned unit - as there was nobody in my local town that could do a repair on such an old unit; and anyway the reconditioned unit was not very costly and ver...

Hi Ex Prof. I am not an auto electrician, but there are some general rules that I follow whenever I get an electrical fault. The first is to check that the fuse is in tact and that the wires are connected and connections are clean, including the earth wire.( The earth being dirty can often cause a p...

Hi. I am not sure about the US, but in NZ it is often possible to source excellent used/second hand rims via a web site that is called WWW.trademe.co.nz Ours is a very small site, but I feel sure that there must be similar web sites in your country that you could browse. Also, often auto wreckers st...
