If '64 had the rounded top and '66 had the release lever on the bottom and '67 had the side release then each year was one year only. I have the '65 seats in my '66. I just started working on them. Is your motor SWF or Bosch? There is a complete write up on the samba and how ONLY the SFW motor is the one that can be converted. I have pictures of mine on my project page. Mine is a bosch and cannot be converted with the armature. I need that '67 motor to convert mine as well. I wouldn't mine buy...
