you could saw the hood handle in half, unscrew the halves, then try to get in through the glovebox to try to unlock the door.

I have no beetle birth certificate, but on the tunnel of my 66 is the date sept. 13 1965. Original color is what I think is bajama blue with black interior.

my guess would be a bad electrical connection, loose wire, ect. simalar thing happened to me the other day, but I had to push! I havn't found my problem yet, but I think it is electrical.

my old switch didn't look that old either, but the plastic on the end was a whole lot thinner than my new one.

I got the switch and instaled it, then with the help of my dad bled the brakes. It was messy, but not that hard. Now my stupid mistake and my brake leak are fixed! I'm just glad they fialed in my back yard than on the road!

I found my 1980 copy at an antique store before I even had my bug! The thing is falling apart and some of the pages are full of grease prints, but it still does it's job. I like the pic. of the guy in bed thinking of all the gears and mechanical tings while his wife sleeps!

Thank you for all of that information. In a way you answered another one of my small questions, I have 2 different door handles. One is the square button the other is round! The guy at the local VW shop said that the Round button handle was a 67 only part and it shouldn't fit. I'm not to picky on th...
