random stalling

So I was driving the bug around the other day when I came home from work and parked for about 45 minutes, then when I went to pick my son up from school it started fine after about 20 seconds she stalled. This happened once before about a month ago. Last time it happened I sat for about 2 minutes an...

I have a quick shift kit, i didn't get it from jc but I'm sure it serves the same purpose. It shortens how far the shifter moves from one gear to the next and it is super easy to install, it will not get rid of slack though. The urethane bushing is probably for the coupling in the back right under t...

splines

Ok guys I need some help. I am in the middle of lowering the rear and for the life of me I can't get the outer spline to let go. the inner popped out just fine. Oh and I have my angle recorded so I know where it goes back. I was going to take it one outer notch but how much different would it be if ...

Tie rod end

OK so I got my spindles put on and when I ordered them it said they needed tie rod ends for a later model so I ordered them also. Turns out I didn't need them. When I was working on the car I did notice that one of the inner tie rods was worn. My question is are these the same on both ends? Should I...

yeah, I went and bought them today and got the front all finished up, no way they would have been reusable anyway. Going to start the rear now, it looks goofy so low in the front and high in the rear. I have a question though about that. I bought a torsion spring tool to make it a little easier so o...

front bearings

Well I got my new lowered spindles and bearings from cip1 and after taking everything apart I see that I don't have new rubber seals. Can these seals be removed and reused or are they going to get destroyed when I pry them out. I just want to know if I should bother to start putting it all back toge...

tires

I hope this is in the right forum, if not I am sorry. I ordered some 145 tires as recommended by many in this forum. Only problem is at the end of the order when you can put what they are for I put 66 beetle, wrong move. I got a call from a guy there that needed the axle weight because they were sma...

thanks again, I'll play with them and see what I come up with. Just ordered some 145 continentals for the front so that will bring it down more so I'll play with it when they get here. Probably will go with spindles at some point anyway. Thanks!
