Thanks that is just what I wanted to hear...I need brighter lights so I think I will try the 6v bulbs, still not wanting to do a 6 to 12 conversion...

Heard a clunking sound and then about a mile or so heard it again...lucky I was just about home...when I stopped the left rear wheel had a funky smell...any ideas? seems like it might be brake related? bearings? costly?... I'm not that bright beyond changing oil...

Well I am enjoying owning a 66 again...It was in excellent condition when I got it and I have added new tires, radio and the assorted gravel guards and trim...My only problem is... my headlights just are not bright and I am driving her at night sometimes...all my connections are clean, I have a new ...

As Fate would have it I left the lights on over night...killed the battery, so I got a new one and adjusted the points...she starts just fine all the time now...Thanks everyone...

I am going to try and install a basic FM AM retro reproduction radio in my 66. The car never had a radio and is still a 6 volt system (the radio is 12v) I have the 6 to 12 converter... I can handle the actual install (mounting) of the radio and antenna...it is the actual connections I have no unders...

I have just started to drive my 66 and have been having some trouble with the car starting after it has been running...it will start just fine cold and then if I stop say for gas and shut it off it will not start... after it cools down Bingo it starts and I'm on my way...any thoughts ?...again mecha...

Help is there a trick to removing door handles? I want to put key guards on, I loosened the two screws under the weather stripping but cannot seem to loosen the handles...sorry if this is a dumb question...any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Due to the fact that I am not much of a mechanic (I paint pictures) I will try & find some one who knows the inner workings of a 66 Air Cooled Classic before I get in there and start messing around...By the way if any one knows of some one in or near the Hudson Valley NY who is familiar and work...
