Can anyone help me find the source of this rattle? It's driving me nuts. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply. If you have a model # for the pump lmk. Also wondering if it matters where I place the pump in relation to the fuel filter which is inline near the tank. I'll have to do some research on the psi rating I need for the pump, if anyone has that lmk. Thanks!

Electric Fuel Pump

I'm considering installing an electric fuel pump in my 66. It currently has a 1600cc and solex 34PICT3 carb. Is anyone running an elec. fuel pump? Pros/Cons?

Stalling out when rolling up to a stop sign

So, I pulled the beetle out of storage and have been having a little issue when I roll up to a light or stop sign. She is stalling out at every one. When I start her up in the morning she idles fine after a few minutes of helping her out with a few pumps of the accelerator. Do you think I just need ...

I'm working my way through ebay right now, I should be able to find something out there. Steering wheel center emblems are just a hair too big, but i might be able to make one work. Thanks for the suggestion.

I need an emblem

I'm looking for a 1.5 inch diameter VW emblem to finish off some dash work on my 66. I haven't had any luck finding an emblem that small, if you have anything or can point me in the right direction that would be great. :D

Hiding my damaged dash

My 66 had an aftermarket radio yanked out of it at some point in it's life. The center section of the dash was damaged pretty good, and it's dinged up from top to bottom. The previous owner hid the damage with a piece of carbon fiber board, which he drilled holes in for the light, wiper, and hazard ...

I haven't been able to find a 6v or 12v stamped on the radio anywhere. It says "Full Transistor", does that mean it's 12v?

Sapphire III

So I found a Sapphire III at a local junkyard and want to install it in to my 66. I know little to nothing about this radio so I have a few basic questions before I attempt the install in my 66 that has been converted to 12v. Are all Sapphire III's 6v or 12v? If not, how do I tell the difference? Ch...

White residue on oil cap?

I'm driving my bug down to it's winter home tomorrow and noticed white residue on the inside of the oil cap. I'm wondering if this is something to be concerned about? The oil itself looks dark, no sign of the white residue in it. Is this something to be concerned about or is it just from some conden...

It's a 12v, that's interesting about cleaning up the connectors, it makes sense. There wasn't anything obviously wrong, I just wiggled a wire and it worked.

All better now. I turned the turn signals on and started moving a few wires around up front, sure enough one had worked it's way a little loose. Back on the road tomorrow!
