Yes so are we. This is one step closer to seeing another 66 on the road since it was put to bed back in 1978.

FIXED, here is what we found. Thanks Blue Baron, we did try that and did not get any results. Tested the ignition at the fuse box and had power. We hard wired from the fuse box to the coil and had power. But then when I hooked up the Idle cut-off valve we lost power. Tried the same thing several tim...

No Spark help

Ok everyone, I need your help. We just put the engine back in our 66 bug. It is a stock 1300 6volt. Car turns over but I do not see any spark at the coil. I have checked up at the fuse box and it has power. The black wire that goes to the coil from the ignition gets hot but when I put a test lamp on...

Dumb question - can't remember where it goes

OK everyone, this is a dumb question. I took the engine apart to hone and rering it. Have it put together but found a tube that looks like some kind of heat sheild tube for something that I can not figure out where it goes. Can someone tell me where it might go? I has to be for some wires or somethi...

Brand new brake system

I have a bleeding question. Do you need to bench bleed the new master cylinder before bolting it to the car? We do this on GM model cars. I replaced all lines and have a new MC, so my whole system is dry, any tricks to bleed the system? Also if my brake pedal does not spring back does this mean that...

I bought a 66 a couple of years ago that was sitting (license say 1978). I bought a battery, drained all fluids and replaced with new, cleaned fuel filter and checked lines. I then hooked up a battery 6 volt and tested to see if I had power at the starter, I did. turned the key and started cranking....

Thanks for the reply. So when we have it on the ground and the shifter is in neutral, it would be running down the road by it self will it?

Thanks also for the tip to put new gear oil in it.

Fun car to work on that is for sure.

Now here is my question, we have the bug on jack stands and all 4 tires off. We tried putting it in all the gears and it seems to work gr...
