You describe what sounds like early Type III wheels, which are solid with nubs to engage the flat hubcaps. Big question is, how do your hubcaps clip to the wheels? With five separate riveted on clips like a ~'38-'65 Beetle, or are there three raised nubs stamped into the wheels to engage the hubcap ...

The trim is secured by metal clips. They fit into the channel of the inside of moldings. The clips have a sharp point that pierces the upholstery and the door panel, then they are bent over on the backside of the panel. Not shown but mentioned here as "includes all moldings mounting clips"...

The seal in the first link is the only "lip" or "garter" seal on the engine. They have also mis-labeled it as rear , which is not uncommon. That is the seal that I describe above as needing all those special tools. I would not advise you try to replace it yourself if you don't ha...

the rear bearing seal could probably use a replacement, too. Are there tools that are required for the gasket replacement job itself? What do you mean by "the rear bearing seal"? If you mean the "flywheel" or "mainseal", then that is at the FRONT of the engine. Another...

First, what gaskets do you plan to replace? You can do most all the "gaskets" with the engine in the car with the exception of the flywheel seal. True some things are easier, like oil cooler seals and heater box gaskets, with the engine out, but not totally necessary. So, another question ...

I think I know what you're talking about. I recall seeing something like this on replacement mufflers, but I don't know why a restriction is necessary. From what I can remember I thought you can take them out of the muffler fresh air fitting by prying them up with a screwdriver. You say they are int...

Getting them off with the engine installed is possible, but requires some contortion, assorted short or curved 13mm wrenches, practice and experience. Taking them apart is possible, but putting them back together would not be easy as the seams are folded over sheet metal that is done at the factory....

Note the height the car is jacked up, the floor jack used and the items that have been removed from the engine as these are key points to removing and installing.

Greetings Elango, I see you're from Malaysia, yes? I'm not sure of the way the car's were configured if they were sold in your market. I can only say what we got here in the US and to a small degree what was sold in Europe. The only real differences in headliner trim I know of if is in US 1966 they ...

The link is the same for both sides. True, one side fits better than the other. Be sure to also use the spring clips that hold the upper return spring away from the W/C. http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=113609625 Note their description says "secures e-brake cable" which...

My VIN is 116808487 and I have round buttons. The small research I've done says the door handle change came around April or May '66. That makes them in production only about 3 or 4 months, not quite a half year. Also, they may look the same on the outside as '67 handles, but the lock paddle is rever...

riocat53, You might have had a brake spring or parking brake component failure inside the drum. The loose parts may have caused a fluid leak and odor. There is potential for the wheel to lock up if something is loose inside. So, do you know how to jack it up in the rear and support it on stands? You...

The horn works on electrical current just like the other devices on the car. If you connect a test light between the two wires and press the horn button with the key on, the light should light. If it does all you need is a horn. If it doesn't, you will need to troubleshoot the system to find where t...

What is your Vin/production month? They were not changed until '67 model year as far as I know. You would have to remove the antenna and see if the hole looks factory formed or from a drill bit. The A-pillar antenna became the std issue after 67, and may have come with a template. Any good mechanic ...

This is what TMI sells as '65-'66 door panels at 124.95. Notice that they are more heavily padded, have panel shapes that are no where near original looking, and the pre-marked holes for the armrests are at the wrong angle. Also, there is no practical way to install trim on the rear panels, as the f...
