So as to assist me to answer the question - do you mean that the engine wont turn over? Or does it turn over when you turn the ignition key, but it wont start? Cheers

Hi. Wolfsburgwest at www.wolfsburgwest.com seem to have some good stuff. May be worth checking out. I buy their parts and ship out to NZ. My experience is that their service is really great. Cheers

Sorry, I was a bit quick in replying - thus this follow up. Remove your distributor. Remove the rotor, points etc then check the earth wire is secure and in tact. Look at both connection points of the wire. Install new points and condensor and rotor (the cost is very little). Set the points to the c...

If you have electricity flowing to other points as as explained by you then it sounds like an earthing problem. Check that the dizzy earth wire is not broken and that the earth connection is clean & secure and making good contact. Also check that the chassis earth connection is clean and secure....

I had the same thing happen to me, but my pressure switch was less than a year old. Seems to be quite common with some brands of switches.

Hi. I have an old 1300 engine that I too am rebuilding (to be a spare). Like you I looked around for new 1300 pistons and pods. The bad news is that they no longer seem to be manufactured/sold. I was told that people now opt for 1500cc. Cheers

Hi Chris. Sorry, but after studying your drawing the only suggestion I have is to charge up the battery with a battery charger, then take the car into an auto electrician to do the repair for you. Sorry I wasnt able to assist. Cheers

Hi. I agree with the recommended new location. Have mine as recommended by BB. But having seen a local VW go up in smoke better to secure the fuel line with clips and reduce the risk in my view. Cheers

Hi. I cant help with the specific problem, but after having a look at the photos, if it were me I would certainly be doing something to secure the fuel hose onto that fuel filter you have fitted. If you dont use some clips it's only a matter of time before the hose comes loose and you have fuel all ...
