The hinges on mine are on the pedal itself, not on the floor?

Accelerator Pedal Problems

Hi all
My accelerator pedal has decided to break off on one of the hinges at the bottom. Which is causing the pedal to stick down on occasions (Scary).
I have scoured the internet trying to locate a new one, but no luck.
Does anyone have one forsale or know of a supplier, UK preferable?
Cheers

Remember if you are sending 12 volts through a 6 volt starter you have to be careful not to turn the key for too long in the ignition as i have been told that it can cause the starter to burn out eventually.
it starts every time now!!

I'll bear the above in mind!!!!!!!!

Hi i don't know if this helps but when i got my Bug it kept blowing an 8 amp fuse and i took the car to a VW specialist he swapped the wires on the headlight around and it cured the problem.
He said it was something he'd been asked many times on old VWs.
