Topic: Window rubber with trim? Why are so many using just black?

That wouldn't work, because there would be no way to stretch it onto the glass. The seal goes on the glass first, then the trim is installed in the rubber, and then the whole thing is installed in the car.

Add two more cars to the list. My black '66 had a '67 style rear quarter on the left side, and my Seasand '66 has one on the right side. This is because the new quarter panels were being phased in prior to the introduction of the '67 model. Both cars were late production run '66s. Turns out it's not...

Advancing the distributor too far is causing preignition. (It's sparking before the optimal closing of the valves.)

Basically, you're asking why does my car sound screwed up when I screw it up.

Also, here's some trick looking ones, and you can get the resistor kit for your flasher relay. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/1156-led-bulb-19-led-forward-firing-cluster-6v-and-24v-dc-car-classic-car-bulb/511/12710/?campaign=BING%20-%20Product%20Listing%20Ads&adgroup=Pr...

There are numerous sources of 6 volt bulbs. Here's a typical one.

My solution to the flasher issue was to use standard bulbs up front, and LEDs on the back. Flasher works as normal.

Find an air cleaner for a '66 1300. It's the largest one that will fit under the flatter '66 decklid without rubbing. (It's also the right one for your car!)

That's terrible for such low mileage. It could be running rich, or you could be having detonation problems. This can be caused by too high compression for the lousy grade of gas you're using. Did the engine ping or diesel? A solution could be lowering the compression ratio by shimming the heads. (Or...

The steering coupling is basically a donut between the steering box and steering column. If it were bad, it should have been noticed and replaced with the steering box.

This really can't be repaired. Just keep scouring the swap meets. They do turn up. I've also assembled German bumpers piece by piece.

The driver's side mirror was always an accessory that everyone had to buy. The cars came from the factory with a threaded mount on the top hinge pin, covered by a plastic cap that was painted body color. These caps are very rare as they were thrown away by the dealer when the mirror was installed. (...

I use Brad Penn SAE 30 Penn Grade 1, "The Green Oil." It's like what the engines used originally, and contains elevated levels of zinc/phosphorous for tappet lubrication in pushrod engines.

It's specially formulated for classic cars which originally used a monograde oil, as the VW did.

I've also had a couple of '66 bugs with one '67 rear quarter panel on one side (different stamping for the Z bar), and the old '66-style quarter on the other. In fact of the two cars, one had it on the driver's side, and one had it on the passenger's side. The introduction of the new pressings must ...

Yep. I've seen it. I just wasn't sure if you meant actually running it IN the heater channel, which could result in melted wires if your heater works good!

" Whatever it was, it's a bad idea to pipe such hot air back into the engine." This is not the case if your system is working correctly: once the engine warms up, the air cleaner flap will open, allowing cooler, fresh air into the air cleaner, and at the same time blocking off the hot air...

I think H~moto is right. My late '66 has the hose going to the left heater box, though I've seen this arrangement on some early cars as well. Perhaps it was a modification for colder countries? Whatever it was, it's a bad idea to pipe such hot air back into the engine. I have mine hooked up for look...
