n00b solenoid/starter question~!

Hey! OK so I haven't posted in awhile but recently my starter went bad. I'm 98% sure it's the solenoid but am not sure whether it's worth it to just replace the whole 6v starter (i have a 12v engine, which could've been part of the reason why it went bad), ORRRR just replace the solenoid? :? Really ...

I don't meant to thread-bump :oops:, but where near the shifter is the replaced dimmer? I'm still a newb and actually didn't even know I was supposed to have a dimmer!! On my signal arm I don't have a button on the back... that's why I ask! Thanks guys! :D

kind of a long time between posts.... but, i double checked the front fenders and it doesn't look resealed or bondo'd, so I'm gonna assume that the previous owner just put new fenders on ... would this be a safe assumption? regardless, there's a VW shows (Volksblast) here in Miami in a couple weeks,...

that's a good idea with the motorcycle blinkers... i'll look into it.

if i decide not to go that route, thanks for the tip finding the original locations on the fenders :)

wow very nice bug you have there.is the set of turn blinkers inside the headlight housing or the small bumper square stand offs? But anyway YES you can find a set of "used in good condition" set of turn signal units on THE SAMBA. The holes are already there to poke the wires thru the fron...

I've got some relatively odd-positioned blinker lights in the front. Hey! Got my first bug last week - '66 vert!

Hey guys! Glad to find a forum created for '66 bugs! I guess you could consider me an intermediate gearhead, but there's still a lot of stuff I don't know! My boyfriend's got a 62 hardtop, so he's taught me a lot about old bugs.
BTW, anyone located in or around the Miami area??
