n00b solenoid/starter question~!
Hey! OK so I haven't posted in awhile but recently my starter went bad. I'm 98% sure it's the solenoid but am not sure whether it's worth it to just replace the whole 6v starter (i have a 12v engine, which could've been part of the reason why it went bad), ORRRR just replace the solenoid? :? kind of a long time between posts.... but, i double checked the front fenders and it doesn't look resealed or bondo'd, so I'm gonna assume that the previous owner just put new fenders on ... would this be a safe assumption? regardless, there's a VW shows (Volksblast) here in Miami in a couple weeks,...

Hey guys! Glad to find a forum created for '66 bugs! I guess you could consider me an intermediate gearhead, but there's still a lot of stuff I don't know! My boyfriend's got a 62 hardtop, so he's taught me a lot about old bugs.
