I live in Phoenix. I change my oil at 3000 miles or at 3 months if I don't put 3k on the clock. Here, there's constantly so much dust and crap in *everything* and oil doesn't manage much longer than that unless you have your car parked in a garage and hermetically sealed in a plastic bubble. Even my...

Sounds like you've got it too tight after re-attaching it to the pedal. How much free play in there in the pedal before the cable starts to engage? Should have around 4/3 an inch. If you have resistance immediately, it's too tight. If you have more than 3/4 inch, it's too loose. If it's just right, ...

Measure an inch out on either tire. At your current ride height, does that put your tire into the fender? Now, crank the steering wheel over to the lock and measure again Does that put you into the fender in a turn situation at your current ride height? If these are both "no", then you can...

... The bottom's 12 inches (a foot) off the ground, or is that a typo? My owners manual says at stock ride height, I have 6" of ground clearance, and the overall height of the car is 4 foot 11 inches. That's what Everett's says too... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/aug65bug/page74....

It has to do with the body shape and the heater channel. 1969-1977 heater channels won't fit a pre 1969 car. 1955-1968 (I believe those dates are correct, oval's through '68) should use the same heater channels.

are your hinges worn out, or loose? Sagging doors can be a bunch of things, from simple "someone messed with them and they need to be adjusted, to the mounts failing or being bent. Can you take some photos? As to raising it to stock height, is the suspension drooping, or has it been lowered? Ag...

all you need to do is measure them. 6volt flywheels are 180mm, 12v flywheels are 200mm.

You can run 6v starters on 12v. They'll fail eventually, but it'll work.
