Here’s my 1966 I got last month. I’m the third owner. What a neat little car.
It received a 1500 in 1980 and a refresh at Canepa in San Diego in 2012.
Came with a squeaky passenger door that I will attempt to rectify after the 105 degree heat goes away. Lol

Valve gaps, after 13 to 15 engine swap.
Does the 1500 have same valve gap as the 1300? My 66 had an engine upgrade To a 1500 cc in 1980. The sticker says 0.06. Does that seem correct?

Re: Whitewall inserts - any good?
I’ve had them in two of my past cars in the early 80s. They look great from 6 feet if done right. I loved the look for the price. I drove on cheap used tires and every tire was a different brand. Portawalls were great!
You cannot curb then though. It’ll destroy them.

New Ruby Red
Greetings,
Just got my second Ruby Red Volkswagen Sedan. The first one was a’65 back in 1979. The ‘66 is my daily driver. My previous daily ride was my Chevy Volt rocket ship. Yeah, think of that will you. LOL
