I actually DID notice that as long as I'm just cursing it's fine.

But when I hit the gas it will pop out.

I'm hoping it ends up being something "easy" to fix.

I don't have a ton of money to spend on it lol.

I talked to some guy that Owns a VW shop and works on old beetles all the time and he said he's never heard of that happening. I had my boyfriend drive it and it stayed in 4th and would only pop out when he pushed on the gas. I will probably have to take it to a shop to get it fixed as I do not have...

Trans Issue??

I got my Beetle out of storage to drive it on the road for a bit. My first time driving it on the main road. When I went to shift into 4th the back tires locked up and it got all funny and wouldn't go back into 4th. So I got scared and pulled over and had my mom drive it home since I am I experience...

Not really that. They have little pits in them from rock chips and such. I suppose I could just leave it how it is since it since they aren't that horrible lol.

Headlamp Restoration

Anyone know how to restore glass headlamps and make them look nice?

I was going to try Mother's Headlamp restorer but it says that stuff is for plastics and I wasn't sure if it would ruin my headlamps.

I might want to leave it original. I'm not really sure what I want to do. The paint and interior will be the last things I do. Right now I'm working on getting things I will need to "restore" it which isn't really a ton. That way when the time comes to fix it up I'll have everything I need...

I actually messed with my grounds and got my turn signals and dash lights to work :D My dad said we are going to go through it and clean it up. The grounds are all dirty and stuff, so that's probably what the problem is. I just don't want to have to replace a wiring harness If I don't have to. My da...

The whole car is older than my dad lol. Good thing though is that JBugs has a whole car harness for like $200 :D I love having a Beetle becaus restoration parts are so cheap. Also, my outside mirror doesn't move. I tried to get it to turn the other day to turn it in since I could not see out of it. ...

Sweet.
Thanks.

I'll have to check the grounds because the fuses weren't blown or anything.

My dad keeps telling me to get a new wires harness. But I don't think that's necessary.

I don't know much about cars. I'm still learning. I have my dad and boyfriend to help me with my car problems, but I wouldn't even know where to even look for the ground cables and whatnot.

Could It Be A Fuse?

I bought my Beetle last month. It's in decent shape but I do not know the history of it or anything. They guy I bought it from had had it since 2009 and said the only problem was that the one headlight didn't work. I drove it for a couple of minutes last weekend around the storage complex and checke...

Dream Come True

I have wanted an old Beetle since I was a kid. I always loved the Herbie movies and always wanted one. I was about 8 years old when the "new" Beetle came out in 1998 or so. I remember telling my mom I wanted one, and asked her to buy me one when I got older. She always said no lol. I am no...

Howdy From Michigan

Howdy.

My name is Brittany and I have wanted an old Beetle since I was a kid. I am now 24 years old and purchased a 1966 Beetle last year :) I can't wait for the Spring so I can start driving it and working on it.
