after a bit of polishing this weekend.

VW made a stripped-down, or economy version of the 66 beetle ...with a 1200 cc engine, a partial headliner, and (I think) no radio cut-out in the dash. That my be what you have your hands on. Not sure if the serial number would reveal that or not. A Birth Certificate likely would ... i'd have to ch...

having a rhd in japan makes it a lot easier when going to places like a drive-thru or paid parking!

one problem about the previous owner is that he doesn't sound like he knows much about vw's. he just likes them and wanted it shiny. about the dash, i have no idea. I will poke around more to see what has been done to it. I know the original color is sea blue. I wish it was still sea blue. it's been...

whoever restored it over 10 years ago didn't do a great job. after i took these pics, i was able to find and punch out the 3 bondo'ed holes in the decklid.
