Reverse light
Some late model year '66's did have back up light switches. I guess they ran out of the 66 models, and started the '67s. My '66 had a back up light switch.

Transmission Shop
Just an update on my transmission. I had a transmission built with the '67 4.12 gearing with short axles for my '66. Transmission is working out well, once I got the shifter adjusted. I had overheating problems with it on the interstate, but today it didn't. However, it's only in the mid 80's today ...

Thanks for the reply. It was recommended to me to use the 67 gears. I do have a 1600, but don't plan on a lot of interstate use. I like the back roads when I have time. The transmission shop I talked to in Powder Springs will build it with short axles, which I think you're right about that. Don't wa...

Hey guys, just got my '66 on the road after a 2 yr resto. Big problem with it jumping out of 4th. Now I'm faced with a transmission swap. Questions are surfacing, like, go with a '67 to get the 412 gearing, or try a freeway flyer, or get my modified '66 repaired. One shop told me that repairing mine...

You can go to home depot and get some 3/8" or so flexible tubing and put on the end of the bottle. Makes it easier.

66 had 2 different sized ends. Without checking, one end is 60mm, the other is like 50mm?

Don't forget the possibility that the shifter is out of adjustment.

I've not used this guy, but I like what I see on his web page. He also puts a threaded fuel inlet in, which will eliminate any chance of inlet tubes coming loose.

With that light being off the rear glass, and not sealed around the edges, does it not light up the entire back glass red, at night?

OK, for everyone's information, and so it doesn't happen to anyone else, I'll spill the beans on the end play problem. When I was cleaning the case, I'd removed the oil galley plugs so I could clean them. After drilling, tapping and installing allen plugs, the one on the front of the case, behind th...

I have this 1600 I'm installing in a 66 sedan. It was built up to go in a dune buggy, but I purchased it, dissembled and cleaned it. I found the main bearings to be old, so I replaced all the bearings in the engine, even though some had already been replaced. The dealer measured my bearings to be su...

Hasn't anyone considered it's just a bad starter bendix?? That's the most common problem with this symptom.
