darzoom, thanks for the link. I found other things that had to be taken care of first but I am getting close to having to fix these hinges. And you are right, "It is teadious work but you will be proud to know you did it when finsihed" is why I like to work on it myself.

If you don't know how to weld, I don't think this is where you need to learn. Have this welded by a pro and then learn on scrap parts. It's perfectly fine to want to learn, but this is a component that I would not risk. I talk by experience! It should not cost that much to have it welded compared to...
