I got the bug back from the shop last week and all is well. It shifts like a new bug. They replaced pretty much everything that has to do with the clutch. They also replaced the transaxle supports. While I had it in there I had them replace all the front end parts and it rides real nice. They also r...

I am still looking for the outer bolts that are supposed to be next to the seat back bolts. I read in another post that the bolts that hold the back seat are the outer mounts for the belts as well on the 66. Is that right? I have peeled carpet back and checked under the side panel and can not find a...

Thanks for the offer BB. I was going to bring it to Total Performance in Tampa to get front end suspension work done and was just going to let him fix the clutch problem as well. I am in Trinity around Hwy 54 and Little Rd area. I had got the engine running great and then the clutch problem came up ...

Transaxle noise

Hi, when my bug is idling there is a noise coming from the trans. As soon as I press in the clutch peddle the noise stops. It shakes going into all gears. I bought the bug a few weeks ago and it always shook a touch going into first only and all the other gears were nice and smooth. The cable looks ...

I am trying to locate the same holes. The arrows in that picture look to be pointing to where the seat back bolts to. Is that right? There seems to be a bolt the same size as a seat belt bolt that looks like it will work but it is on the floor. Please advise. Thanks.

66 Bug front turn signals

Hi, I just bought a 66 Bug and the previous owner converted it to 12v. It has some aftermarket plastic 12v turn signals on the front fenders which I hate, ( plastic chrome) yuck. My question is will the original Hella lens and metal chrome housing fit over that new 12v set up? Thanks for your help. ...

Hello from Fla- Sea Blue 66

My new baby. Pretty honest bug. The engine is not the original but runs good. Will need new pans but good other then that. It has had a bad respray on the outside but original paint inside. Will be updating as I do stuff. Talk to you guys soon.
