Happy to help. I started my project 5 years ago and found this site to be a very valuable source of information. It took me a year to complete, and that was working on it almost every day. (I'm retired!). I've owned it for 26 years. I bought it from the estate of the original owner. Today it has onl...

Behind rear seat carpet colour?

Yes, all the carpet was the same color. I have restored a 66 Bahama Blue and kept it as original as possible. I used German square weave carpet. While the color is listed as black, it is actually a very dark gray.

I think you're referring to the armrest. In the original interior there is an armrest on only the passenger door. None for the driver.

dash molding !!!!

I'm at the end of a year long restoration. I never thought the "dash molding" would be a problem. I bought the "kit" from WW almost a year ago. I didn't read the fine print! The "clips" do not fit the original holes. I've broken most of them, even after "enlarging ...

Assist strap location

I'm reaching the end of a complete nut-and-bolt restoration, most of which I've done myself. I did have the headliner installed by someone else. I now want to install the assist straps and seat belts but can't locate the holes. Any suggestions on how to do this without destroying the new pillar cove...

found the answer

There are three seperate rubber rings that surround the glass to hold it in place within the chrome ring. I figured out the correct order and placement. To secure the trim ring to the speedometer body, the edge of the ring has to be bent over the raised lip of the body. Looking at the original one, ...

The rubber gasket surrounding the glass came out in three pieces. I now can not figure out what order it all :( goes back in. No combination see...

It's now or never!

Hi, First I must say how amazed I am to have found a site dedicated to 66 Bugs! This will be my "Go to" site for info from now on! I am the proud owner of a 66 I aquired from the estate of it's orignal owner in 1992. It currently has only 44400 miles on her. It had been my plan to do a ful...
