Thanks! I have found some dealers. Trying to see if one will sell the hardware so I can install myself. Will keep you posted.

Radio conversion

I want to convert my original radio to add an Aurora Design FMR-1, BT-1, and USB-1. I would like to do the work myself. Has anybody been able to find a dealer that sells just the equipment?

Progress

New floor pans have been welded on, the tunnel has been cleaned and primed, new fuel line installed. The tunnel has been welded back together. Alignment test with the body looks good. http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj540/bbarbre72/IMG_0907.jpg http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj540/bbarbre72...

66 Beetle in Michigan

I picked this bug up last July(2011). I knew that I had some work ahead of me when I got it cause the sun roof had been left open in the rain and the floor pans had flooded. I didn't think I would have to replace the pans though cause they "looked" pretty solid. Same with the rest of the c...

New Floor Pans

I am looking to replace my floor pans. They had been patched previously so I am opting to put new, complete floor pans in. Any suggestions where to get new ones from. It looks like cip1 has the thickest replacement pans, but I have read that they lack quality. I am more concerned about quality than ...

@fatalifeaten - That blue is awesome. I found that same picture and am considering it for my own. @LindaBlue66 - I have attached a picture of an orange that I am considering. I apologize, I do not know what the color code is yet. If it is the color I decide on I will have to try to match it at the p...

Love your car. I visit this topic every time I am working on my 66 for ideas and information. Your color choices are some of the best I have seen for this type of project. Great job! Love the details!

chassis center tunnel

The bottom plate of my tunnel has light surface corrosion so I would like to remove it, clean, treat, and reinstall it. Is there any reason to reconsider this? My concern is alignment after removing the panel. Both floor pans will be removed, suspension is off. I have seen posts of partial removal a...
